Amazon Marketplace Requirements & Fees

Seller Plans

Amazon offers two types of seller accounts:

  • Individual Seller Plan – Designed for sellers with fewer than 40 monthly sales. No monthly subscription fee, but Amazon charges a fixed per-item fee plus referral fees.
  • Professional Seller Plan – Recommended for merchants using bulk product uploads and automation tools. This plan includes a monthly subscription fee and referral fees based on product category.

Only the Professional Seller Plan supports API-based integration and catalog management through tools like Koongo.

Mandatory Product Requirements

To publish products on Amazon, sellers must meet several mandatory data requirements:

  • Universal Product Identifier (EAN or UPC code) – Required to match products with existing Amazon ASINs.
  • Core product attributes – Title, price, brand, image URL, and product condition.
  • Category-specific fields – For example, “Display Type” for watches, or “Metal Composition” for jewelry.

Amazon may reject listings that do not include required attributes. Koongo helps by guiding you through the attribute mapping process and ensuring full compliance.

Fees & Commissions

Amazon’s pricing includes:
